Professional Background and Experience

Nerissa Boggan is a graduate of the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry Dental Hygiene Program. She is a dedicated lifelong learner and an experienced practitioner and leader in the dental field, with her clinical practice continually informed by current research. She has contributed to the California Dental Association (CDA) Cares program and the Solano County Public Health & Social Services System Children’s Dental Disease Prevention Program. Commitment to Public Health Education

Her passion for public health led her to create and present a curriculum for elementary students that teaches the importance of proper breathing. The program also helps children understand how mouth breathing can affect facial development, oral health, and overall well-being.

Her work reflects a strong commitment to health equity by helping ensure that children from all backgrounds have access to education that supports lifelong health. She believes that early prevention and education can help reduce disparities and give every child a better opportunity to thrive.
