About Us

Nerissa Boggan is a graduate of the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry Dental Hygiene Program. She is a perennial learner and an experienced practitioner and leader in the dental field, in private practice in both General and Periodontic Dentistry. She has been involved with the California Dental Association [CDA] Cares program and the Solano County Public Health & Social Services System Children’s Dental Disease Prevention Program. Nerissa brings a wealth of experience to the dental industry and is a regular attendee at dental and medical conferences detailing education for optimal airway growth, development, and function.

Her love for Public Health gave rise to a curriculum she wrote and presented to elementary students with the objective of how to breathe correctly and how mouth breathing has deleterious impact on children’s facial development and overall health.

Nerissa has also recently published her first Children’s book. It features a charming tale that celebrates the heartwarming journey of friendship and discovery bond between children and their pets while teaching the value of one of our most overlooked senses, the power of the nose. Through playful rhymes and gentle wisdom, the story reveals how breathing through the nose is not just about smelling—it’s a way to enjoy the freshest, healthiest air! Nerissa is actively spreading the word about the importance of dental airway screening and patient education. She has undergone intensive training in orofacial myology that includes access to and understanding of thorough treatment programming that is individualized and based on the evaluation findings and unique needs of each client or patient. She has completed and received her Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy certificate from the Academy of Oral Myofunctional Therapy [AOMT], International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM), in COM® (Certified Orofacial Myologist) Certification Track, and The Breathe Institute (TBI)’s Myo Masterminds Program, the first of its kind and the most advanced and comprehensive 9-month literature and case-based course available today with 88 hours of instruction and hands-on learning.

Nerissa is zealously passionate about dentistry and holistic treatments for both children and adults. She is committed to assisting patients increase their understanding of the importance of establishing neuromuscular changes at a habitual level, establishing normal chewing and swallowing patterns, improving tonicity of the orofacial musculatures, eliminating noxious habits and training facial and oral muscles of the mouth for the benefit of achieving optimal health. Her ultimate goal for each client/patient is that they, Breathe well. Eat well. Sleep well. Live well.
